Howard University Parent Advisory Council (HUPAC)

Student success improves when parents are involved in the education journey. That's why it's important to have parent leaders as part of the Howard University Parent & Family Program who serve as a bridge between university administration and parents, fostering open communication and collaboration to help ensure a positive student experience.

Selected by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Howard University Parent Advisory Council (HUPAC) is comprised a team of dedicated parent volunteers who play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. HUPAC contributes to a supportive and enriching environment that reinforces the sense of community that defines the uniqueness of the university.

HUPAC Leadership consists of Executive Committee members who serve in the following roles for the current academic year:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Secretary
  • Director of Programs
  • Director of Communications
  • Parent Class Representatives

The parent group meets throughout the academic year to discuss various aspects and concerns about college life at Howard, from academic programs and student support services to ways to help shape university initiatives that best align with the needs and aspirations of students and parents. They also host special events and activities designed to engage parents in the university

If you are interested in serving on the HUPAC, please email or call 202.806.2100 for more information.
